Contours of Silence

Contours of Silence explores absence as presence. Using negative painting, botanical forms—petals, leaves, fragments—become interruptions, and the spaces between them take center stage. Light, void, and atmosphere shape what we see, revealing the unseen forces that hold life together. These works make absence tangible, asking us to notice the intervals, pauses, and margins where meaning quietly lives.

The white shapes float like memory or echo, shaped entirely by the colour fields that surround them. Each composition explores thresholds, the delicate points where one form gives way to another, where something quiet but alive emerges. These works give voice to absence, revealing the pauses that give meaning to the visible world.
